On my searching about OSX on virtualization, I find some interesting tutorial on pcwizxomputer.com. And base on that I manage sucessfully to install and running iAtkos v5i on VMWare Player 2.5.1 and VMWare Workstation 6.5.1.

Here is my stories :
My Host Machine is acer aspire 4920G with 2G rams, running Ubuntu 8.10 x86_64 with the latest upgrade.
Virtualization application that I used is VMWare Player 2.5.1.
(note: I found a windows software to configure VMware VMX configuration file and VMDK disk image, you can google it for key VMX Builder)

The VMware configuration is:
1. Virtual Disk should be IDE type, and minimal 8 GB.
2. OS type selection is "other" and the version is "FreeBSD64"
3. Ethernet mode is bridge (I tried NAT mode but I can't make it running) and make sure that the bridged ethernet on the host is the active link.
4. I use the iso disk images as the source of CD / DVD.

OSX Custom Install:
SMBIOS28, Kernel 9.2.0 TOH and Intel Ethernet driver

So you can power on the virtual machine.
On StartUp Boot Message press "F8", and boot prompt should come up.

If the virtual machine is working, you should see boot sequence some message on the screen.

finally the "welcome message screen for iAtkos v5i" should come up

select utilities->disk util, erase and setup the disk, I set single partition (just select erase tab and set the Volume name, and click "erase"
you will see the volumes and you can quit disk util.

click continue and select the destination volume, continue and than click "customize", select the customisation of this installation as state on the top.

and the click install

the installation progress should come up

on my machine it's take about 30 minutes, and the machine should restart automaticaly on the end of installation.
after restarted if you press "F8" on the boot up message you will see

if you set "-v -f" you will see some boot up sequence, and this is good to see if some thing wrong happen.

if not you wll see

after a while on my machine it's about 10 minutes (but next boot up sequence is only take 3 minutes), if there is no error, the "Welcome Message Screen" is up

and you can start with customisation of your OSX ..... and the end your Desktop will come up.

If you have Ethernet connected to internet you can start the Ethernet assistant to setup the ethernet automatically.
(Your LAN/WLAN on the host machine should connected to dhcp server).

DONE!!!

Just want to share my kitchen for xda atomlife ...
The kitchen is based on Ervius Visual Kitchen ver 1.8.0ve

OEMXIPKernel is dumped form latest WM6 official release for atom life...

Kitchen preparation is by using WM6.5 rom release 23001 released by Chrissch on xda-developers site.

This rom (wm6.5 23001) is dumped it using the ervius visual kitchen dump rom facilities, before do this, rename the rom file (Al1.dio) to al1.dio.payload and put it on the root ervius kitchen. The result is :
there will be dump directories with complete kitchen set for atomlife.

Next I dump the official wm6 rom release it for O2 atom life, by using bepe toolset from this thread

and follow the interactive tutorial available on this thread to dump rom. So I have OEMXIPKernel original for O2 atom life ...

copy this part (OEMXIPKernel) to the visual kitchen and delete the giisr.exe part (I don't know why; if I didn't delete this part, the rom boot process is stuck on "reset to factory default" message).

And the kitchen is ready for customization ....

for my testing :
I use wm6.5 SYS 23028; XIP 23028 from this thread http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=54678 and release by Joojoobee666
(I have to delete : hd.dll, mencfilt.dll and osaxst0.dll form MSXIPKernel part)

After by trial and error to minimize the number of modules finally I can generate my first rom for atom life

--- here is my first rom ---

1. Prepare 2 files :
- new_ervius_visual_kitchen_v_1_8_1_exe_only_+_tools_folder.rar from ervius visual kitchen thread.
- Life23035-ori.zip , the latest atomlife wm6.5 released by crishsch

2. extract 2 files to any folder .. (don't use any space in between folder name) on mine is : C:\EVK; and rename the al1.dio into al1.dio.payload

nb. I can not run build if the drive is network drive ..

3. Run the ervisuvkitchen.exe and press OK on any pop up message ...

The ervius kitchen will pop; klik the "DUMP" button to dump al1.dio.payload; to populate the kitchen with the correct structure;

There will be a pop up to select payload / rom files and select al1.dio.payload that has been prepared on step 2;

There will be another pop up message to give a name our dump rom: I give it name "atomlife"

After dump prosess there will be a new folder name it "dump" and already populated with all folder need it by ervius kitchen to run ...

4. Next go to the rom "OEMXIPKERNEL" directories and delete "giisr.dll" directory.
(Make building the XIP.bin error, so the rom bootup will stop on "Reset to Factory Defaults" message)

5. Edit "boot.rgu" files on the "OEMXIPKERNEL" and find the line with "MUI"; edit the "804" value to "409" (may be you need to change the file property and un check the "read only" ...)

6. Copy the attached file "kitchen_build_rom.bat" to the /dump/tools/ directory.
(this is my customization on the original to build atomlife rom).

7. Now the kitchen is ready to run : just klik the erviuskitchen.exe on the /dump directory.

8. Now, Ready to Set our Kitchen / Rom build staff for 23025 relaese to test the kitchen :
(Hi, yes I try to re-build the chrishsch rom; by using ervius kitchen ... )
a. Select Device List ("atomlife") , select XIP and SYS version ( 23025 on this step ..)
b. Fill the "Device ID" with "ATOM****" and Chunk : 64
(Atomlife kitchen build process don't need this info)
c. Set the rom vers. as you like (I set 5.3.00.25 )

so The kitchen will be populated with all SYS , OEM , EXT, and XIP as what the version that we are selected ..

and We can save it our customization, so If we don't need to re-customize; by pressing the "SAVE" button

9. To build the rom just press "Create" button and if there is no error; the released rom will be available on /dump/released_atomlife/ directory and ready to flash and test it ...

Ok, so start to build new rom. Here is the step :
1. Get new ROM Source (SYS & XIP) ...
you can get it from forum.xda-developers.com ==> released by Da_G
or on forum.ppcgeeks.com => on thread "WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition" you can find people release new leaked rom ...

2. For this tut, I will take it from Da_G latest release COM3 23047 ...
you have to download : "23047 XIP/SYS" files and "23047 Lang 0409 all dpi"

3. Extract the files; Create on the atomlife kitchen in SYS subdirectories, folder :
23409 and subfolder dpi_96, dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320 and shared. And on each subfolder create folder 0409 and common (please see the dump it rom as reference)

4. Copy all modules from the extracted files as follows :
modules with name "packages name" copy to shared/common
modules with name "packages name_Lang_0409" copy to shared/0409
modules with name "packages name_dpi_96" copy to dpi_96/common
modules with name "packages name_dpi_96_lang_0409" copy to dpi_96/0409
modules with name "packages name_dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320" copy to dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320/common
modules with name "packages name_dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320_lang_0409" copy to dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320/0409

So SYS has been prepared for build 23047 ..

5. Now, we have to prepare for the ROM part :
for OEMXIPKERNEL, because this is device specific; Copy from the dump it rom; to folder "23409"
for "MSXIPKERNEL", copy from the extracted files; Compare it with the reference dump rom and delete all modules that didn't exist in the reference rom.

So ROM has been prepared for build 23047

6. Start Ervius Visual Kitchen to customize rom build process like on the post before ....

7. After customization, to build new rom just press the 'Create' Button ..

8. If the build process is success; you can get the new al1.dio rom in folder Released_atomlife

9. Enjoy your new rom build

next is how to minimize / customize modules to files to make our build neat and responsive ...
